Munns' Family Reunion in East Canyon Resort
Well, here we are a year later and once again Shandi is teaching me about blogging. She and Jaeleen posted just before we came for our reunion and both Mac and I decided that we wanted to Blog once a month cause we loved it so much. When I say Mac and I, of course that means that Mac will load the pictures and I will type the text and change whatever needs to be done to update it. This should be fun.
Well, this year has been a little rough economically. We were going to take Eric and Shandi to the Canary Islands but after booking the resorts way early we decided financially that was not going happen. We had to use the weeks before March or lose them so we booked the only resort available in Utah for our family reunion.
East Canyon Resort is near Henefer and it has ended up being a really fun place to come. It is nestled in a peaceful canyon and is fairly remote but in 45 minutes you can be in Park City or an hour in Salt Lake.
We all gathered on Friday evening and on Sat. we did a lot of playing games, watching movies and them in the afternoon a bunch of us went snowmobile riding and when they got back sledding. It was snowing pretty hard and so it was not so much fun for the children.
Sunday we had breakfast and headed for church...when we got there we were there for the entire block. That was OK cause Braden has a new girlfriend and we all enjoyed being in church together. On the way back we saw a lot of deer and Eric and Greg made fun of me. Big surprise; we laughed a lot.
Everyone took turns with meals and Mac, Jessica, Quentin and
Iwere in charge of Jaime and Greg's birthday dinner. Shandi said in her blog that we are all about food and I guess that is true. Good food at that. We had both Carrot cake and chocolate cake and it was yummy.
Shandi and Eric and Kenz and Greg had to go back on Sunday night, Zach and Jaeleen on Monday and Breton and Jaime on Tuesday.
On Monday we went tubbing and Jaime and I went down on the same tub thinking we were going to go so fast and we went down the hill at a snail's pace. It was good for a really good laugh.
Each day was fun filled but as you might guess so many people with so many personalities got a little crowded and we were all happy to get back to our own lives.
Mac and I had Tuesday evening and Wednesday alone. We always really enjoy one another. We read and watched movies, snowmobiled, went hot tubbing and watched deer. We started a fire that night and it was wonderful to have that kind of heat.
Shandi and Eric joined us Weds. night and we had fun talking about their new business and life in general. We have to go home today and go back to real life. It's been a great get away. We love being with our children and grandchildren, strengthing family ties and building memories.
The next 6 weeks will be action packed with preparation for Kenz and Greg's wedding. Hold on !

Today we are at Snowbird and Shandi is helping me set up a blog. We have had a interesting year, we have a new house: we built much of it ourselves and it is very creative and rustic and we are having fun continueing the process of making it our home. Shandi is married to Eric, their wedding day was one of the best days of our lives and they are bissfully happy. Kenz came home from Thailand and then we went back for 12 days. What an experience and how amazing are the Thai people who have sacrificed to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints and their love for Kenz is just so unbelieveable. Zach and Jaeleen have a new baby boy, Briggs. Kaylee, Breton and and Jaime's oldest got baptized and confirmed, Braden also their oldest son started school. Jens and Deagan, Jessica and Quent's boys are adorable as is Sydney, Breton and Jaimes, and Jason and Brianna Zach and Jaeleen's. We love being parents and grandparents. All the children have good jobs and have callings in the church and we love getting together. It is so much nicer in our new home cause we have a huge family room and we enjoy it tremendously. We have struggled in different areas financially as I think everyone has but we feel so blessed in every other aspect of our life that there is no reason to complain. We hope to have some pictures and other things of interest on soon. God Bless...love to all! MaCherie
